Selling Art at Art Fairs

This is a totally new experience for me, and I’m loving it. It’s the experience of sharing something of myself with people, in a friendly non-threatening way. Being a musician, I spent a lot of time performing music. That’s a totally different experience, especially for an introverted soul like myself. I love to share creativity, but something about sitting in my tent, and having people wander through and look through art prints at their leisure is very relaxing for me. Some things I have learned thus far:

  1. Wind is a real thing, even small breezes. Make sure your set-up is totally or at least 90 percent wind-proof! It will save you a lot of issues.
  2. People are amazing. I have met the most beautiful people in this process. People offering advice, people giving feedback, or just people willing and wanting to chat and make a new connection or friendship. It’s really amazing and heart warming. Happying.:)
  3. Creativity is connecting. People love to talk over a piece of art. It’s joyful to share about each of our creativities. We get to support each other and make each other happy.
  4. Trust yourself with it all. If you feel like a price is too high you can lower it, and vice versa. But don’t haggle because you feel you have to. Just do what feels good, and right to you. Bring whatever you want to sell, and leave at home what you feel like leaving.

I have tons to learn, and that is the fun of it. It feels like a steep learning curve with endless knowledge and interesting things to try out.
